Milltech specializes in a unique set of services that balance technology needs and trends with a customer’s business goals and requirements. Milltech is not aligned with any one vendor and does not try to "push" a particular solution or technology on the client. Our goal is to find the "right tool for the job" and provide services and recommendations that best meet the customer's goals. For example, Milltech consultants are equally skilled in both Windows and Linux solutions and can match a solution to your needs based on your skills, requirements, budget and "culture".
The following represents a selection of engagements Milltech has undertaken:
Interoperability and competitive strategy
Milltech is currently working for a number of large IT companies on a variety of projects in the systems interoperability, cloud computing and competitive strategy.
Startup business consulting
Milltech has worked for a venture-funded software company for 2 years, helping with business strategy, marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, white papers and business development with strategic partners. This company has a suite of products in the Windows / Linux / UNIX interoperability space.
Milltech worked on a large scale project to evaluate a number of client-server application options for a large, multi-national organization. Specific tasks included technology assessments, validating the architecture design, costing for the various options being considered and proposal writing. The project involved a distributed Windows and SQL Server-based application with .NET web services integration.
New venture consulting
Doug has engaged with a number of new venture entrepreneurs to share the knowledge and experience he has gained in running a high tech, venture-funded company. Consulting has been provided on a variety of subjects such as venture capital financing, capitalization tables, exit options, go-to-market ideas, competitive strategies, compensation packages, team building and dealing with the unexpected.
New business expansion
Milltech engaged with a client to help them expand their existing services business into a complementary products business. The engagement dealt with virtually all aspects of getting the new operation to market, including product definition, leading sales and marketing programs and staff training.
